My mum's fashion drawings from the seventies

As the cold weather sets in, I thought you might like to see some of my mum's knitwear designs from the 1970s. After a fair amount of hassling from yours truly, she finally dug this folder of treasures out of the attic. Some of these are from her days at art college, others are from her time working for Knitmaster producing designs for their Modern Knitting magazine, and some designs were sold to boutiques and to high street store Miss Selfridge. Wanna take a peek?

Okay, so the last one clearly isn't knitwear design, but I love it so!

  28. Wow that's amazing - your mom was really creative too.

I know that my mom was very crafty too in the 70s and 80s and I am trying hard to convince her to get into it again in these wonderful days of blogging.

So how much crafts/creativeness is your mom doing at the moment?

  30. These pictures are amazing - my Mum had a Knitmaster & they tinkle so many memories. The outfit in the fifth photo reminds me so much of the look that my Mum had. I don't know if you were ever made machine knitted clothing with ducks, flowers, hearts that sat just above the rib? Or whether your dolls had machine knitted dresses?

  32. Thanks for your lovely comments everyone - my mum was chuffed to read them! She runs a charity now and hasn't done any designing or crafting for many years, but maybe all your admiration will encourage her to get back into it...
