Tilly's Nautical Chic Alexa Jumpsuit

Serving up naval officer realness with my latest make - the Alexa jumpsuit sewing pattern.

Inspired by the simplicity of the black version we made for our gorgeous real gal model Selena (as seen on the shop page - linked above), I was originally going to make exactly the same jumpsuit, but at last minute I pivoted and settled on navy instead.

The fabric is a linen viscose blend that I bought from Lamazi Fabrics. I found the gold buttons in my stash - they are flat-topped with little shanks, and were perfect for the look I had in mind.

I'm in love with the utility-style flap pockets and little cuff tabs. If you follow my Instagram Stories, you may have seen that I accidentally sewed one of the tabs onto the neckline while tired and distracted by a podcast - doh! But hey ho, that's what the seam ripper is for. The funny thing was I got a ton of DMs from people saying they actually thought it looked good on the neckline... so there's a little idea for you if you want to make your Alexa extra unique, hehe!

This outfit is soooo comfy and perfect for British summertime. You know, when you want to wear something cool just in case, but aren't quite ready to expose your knees... brrrr! It's also proving a good choice for working from home, when I want to feel professional but also wear something practical enough for chasing my little boy around the garden. I'm definitely going to get a lot of wear out of this one.
