My first quilt!

After I'd cooed over their cute 'Super Quick Quilt Packs', Saints and Pinners kindly sent me one to test out. The pack includes an assortment of adorably soft Cloud 9 Forest Friends flannels and instructions on how to assemble them into a simple, striped baby quilt. As a quilting virgin who drools over fat quarter bundles but hasn't a clue what to do with them, the pack was perfect. It also includes useful tips on sewing with flannels - for example, use a very tight stitch to avoid fraying, and designate one needle for flannels as it'll become blunter.

The little bunnies and owl prints are so cute! The quilt is really snuggly. I'm going to give it to my baby niece Emily for Christmas. Ssshh!

The project took three evenings from reading the instructions through to snipping off the last dangling bits of thread. It was extremely easy and therapeutic sewing, some quality time straight stitching at the machine resulting in something pretty come together really quickly. Erm... except when I say straight stitching... my finished quilt is... erm... rustic, if you will!
