My Marigold Jumpsuit

It's all settled - this is the outfit I'm living in this Summer!

I sewed this Marigold jumpsuit in a lovely viscose bought from Sew Over It (now out of stock, but they do have a cracking selection of other viscoses). And then made my long-suffering fella take a million photos while we were on holiday to the Amalfi Coast before he was rewarded with a limoncello ice cream. We found this wall is in pretty Atrani, five minutes walk from Amalfi itself.

This jumpsuit is soooo comfy. I wore it three days of the holiday, and have been layering it up over a t-shirt for the cooler climate of London.

When you sew your own, bear in mind that the bodice wants to hang easy - don't be tempted to over-fit it, by making the neckline too tight or shortening the straps excessively. It'll feel snugger once the facing is attached, and the last thing you want is it cutting into your armpits. You also need that blousiness with the extra fabric at the waistline - especially at the back - so you can sit down comfortably without getting a wedgie! Think light, casual, Summery :)

And finally, I couldn't resist getting a photo in front of this sign! No idea what they're selling, but we obviously share a love of names :)

Coming up, Vanessa has written two really helpful posts on fitting the trousers and bodice to your shape. Stay tuned for those on Friday, and catch the rest of the Marigold sewalong here. Hope you join in!
