Jenny Makes All The Things
It’s Jenny here, the office assistant at Tilly and the Buttons, if you order a pattern or fabric from our shop it's most likely me who will package it up for you!
I've been sewing for about 4 years and I've recently been working my way through the patterns in our new book Stretch! sewing with all kinds of knit fabrics and making myself the comfiest handmade wardrobe ever : )
Kicking off with these statement sleeves on my Frankie Tee made using our Monstera Grid French Terry and White Viscose Jersey for the bodice. The Monstera Grid is snuggly and soft and paired with the viscose jersey it makes this top ideal for Spring - basically when it rains *cry* you can still stay warm!
I’m all about hoarding fabric remnants that I love and can’t bare to part with and patterns like the Frankie Tee are the best for using these up for sleeves and neckbands.
I’ve paired my Frankie Tee here with my Bibi Pinafore, which I made in pink scuba fabric from Fabworks and scissor buttons from Otton’s Haberdashery in Exeter. I love Bibi’s versatility, the first time I wore my Bibi I dressed her up after work and wore it to the book launch party!
The Stella Hoodie Dress is the definition of secret pyjamas. I love the print on this Fries With That? French Terry from our shop and I used a remnant of stretch velvet for the hood lining, it doesn’t really get any better than that!
Lastly I made this Freya top in lilac jersey with a gold glitter stripe that Louise our sales and communications manager bought me from Japan. She knows the way to my heart with anything lilac. Paired with my thrifted skirt I can now live my best life dressed head to toe in lilac.
Next up on my Stretch! sewing wish list are the Stella Joggers in our Glitter Sweatshirt Fleece in Sparkly Pink so I can feel fabulous whilst have a Netflix and sewing day!
I’d love to see what you’ve been sewing from Stretch!
