I don't make a habit of posting pictures of my bum on the Internet, but I'm making an exception today because omigawd I made a pair of pink jeans and I LOVE them!

So this is the Jessa sewing pattern which we released a few weeks ago. The beauty of this pattern is that it's so versatile - you can make it as shorts, trousers, jeans, cords... I went for denim so technically these are jeans, but the design details elevate them beyond an everyday casual piece to something special. I'm obsessed with the triangle tab waist fastening, the faux pocket flap and supersize patch pockets.
I'm little (5'1"), with relatively large hips for my frame, so it's hard to find trousers that I think look flattering. What I love about the shape of these is that the high waist cinches in my mum tum and has given me what looks like a waistline for the first time in (ahem) three years. The extended waistband is extra flattering as it pulls the eye in to accentuate the waist even more. Unlike my usual skinny jeans, these balance out my legs to the hips more thanks to the flared shape.
Whenever I wear these, I keep catching myself jutting out a hip as I wait on a station platform, or nonchalantly posing with my hand in my back pocket while queuing at the Sainsbury's checkout. Making your own clothes does that to you, doesn't it?
