.Since it's a great pattern for teaching people to sew, and since we often get requests for patterns for teens and tweens, we've added an extra small size to this pattern - equivalent to UK size 4 / US size 0 / EUR size 32. *Update!* Jaimie now comes in a choice of TWO size bands - a UK 4-24 OR a UK 16-34.
THE DESIGN

The pattern is named after Tilly's sister-in-law Jaimie, who knows how to work like a boss and chill like a queen!
The perfect PJs for all year round, you can make them either full-length or as flirty boyfriend shorts. The relaxed-fit leg and elasticated waist make them oh so comfy to wear and easy to fit too. Add an optional drawstring for a cute extra detail, or you can use the drawstring in place of the elastic if you don't have any to hand.

The Jaimie pyjamas are suitable for all stitchers, including novices. There's a free video tutorial to accompany the pattern instructions, where Tilly guides you through each step from start to finish.
The only vaguely fiddly part is the buttonholes, but these are for the optional drawstring only, so you can always leave them out. Once you've checked out your purchase, you'll find an email in your inbox with a PDF to download. You can either print it at home on A4 or Letter size paper and stick the sheets together, or send the A0 version to a copyshop or pattern printer to print full scale.
SIZING AND SUPPLIES

We added an extra small size especially for this pattern as we reckon they make a perfect project for teens and tweens taking the first steps on their sewing journey. The pyjama bottoms are easy to shorten depending on the maker's height - we have a dedicated blog post which covers lengthening and shortening pattern pieces with more into.
Jaimie works with easy-to-find, easy-to-sew fabrics such as cotton lawn, shirting, flannel, quilting cotton and double gauze. If you're a more confident stitcher you could also try a delicate viscose (rayon) for a more floaty look.
The brilliant thing about Jaimie is you don't need that many notions to make it - hooray! We've designed the pyjama bottoms to have an elasticated waist with an optional added drawstring, however, if you can't get your hands on elastic at the moment that's no problem! You can leave the elastic out and use the drawstring alone to cinch in the waist.
