The best thing about making pyjamas is you can let your imagination run wild and choose any print your heart desires. Whether you are making a pair of Joe PJs for somebody who has a classic wardrobe or clothes with a sense of humour, the right fabric is waiting to be discovered.
We have been snooping around some fabric shops, looking for a bucketload of options for the Joe pyjamas to share with you. You just need to decide which style fits the recipient's character the best!

We will kick off with most exciting news about the Joe pyjamas - they co-ordinate with the Jaimie PJs, which means one thing - twinning! Tilly dreamt up the Joe pyjamas so the whole family could match in handmade PJs this Christmas.
The socially distanced shoot couldn't have been more fun - as we wanted a hugging couple, our Product Manager Nikki and her husband Dan posed in matching cats in Christmas hats Joe and Jaimie PJs bottoms. I know, it's too cute, isn't it? If you love cats in hats (and let's be honest, who doesn't), you can copy this adorable pair and use the same fabric from Fabrics Galore.

You can't go wrong with a classic pair of Joe PJ bottoms. The kind that are marked out as favourites from the minute they're tried on. They will happily co-ordinate with that sloppy tee that somehow makes it through every wardrobe sort-out and carries lots of memories with it.
Checks or plaid fabrics definitely tick the classic PJs box, and you can often find them in brushed cotton which is super snuggly. Chambray, like fabric no.8, would be great for a crisp pair of the Joe shorts. And of course, you can't go wrong with stripes for pyjamas!

There is nothing like pulling on a fresh pair of pyjamas after a hard day. PJs can feel very luxurious in the right fabric, so why not make a pair of luxe Joe PJs for your favourite person? It's a great opportunity to use something special, like Liberty Tana Lawn fabric (fabrics no.2 and no.3). A silky viscose would feel lovely against the skin, and we think fabric no.2 would make a very posh pair of Joe shorts.
