Vote for Your Favourites in the British Sewing Awards

Best Sewing Book

Bonjour mes amis! Just a quick one today to ask for your support with something. I've been nominated in the British Sewing Awards in the categories of 'Favourite Sewing Personality' and 'Best Sewing Blog', and my book Love at First Stitch has been nominated as 'Best Sewing Book 2014'. Woohoo! I'm so very grateful to all the lovely people nominated me, my blog and my book in the awards - thank you thank you thank you! And now you get to choose your favourite nominee in each of these categories, as well as your favourite haberdashery, pattern house and more - cast your votes here.

Love at First Stitch has also been nominated for 'Best New Craft Book 2014' in the Craft Awards. It's so great to know that sewing is becoming a more popular craft in general! If you love a good survey as much as I do, go vote in that one too :)

Thank you so much, and bon weekend! Who's working on their Francoise dress this weekend? I'm currently sewing a hot pink Francoise with a black polka dot collar (nicer than it sounds!), as well as some emergency sweatshirt Coco dresses for the freezing cold London weather. Looking forward to having something to show you soon...

  4. Hi Tilly
I just wanted to thank you for propelling me into the wonderful world of fabrics and making clothes! I bought your book earlier in the year after seeing you on The Sewing Bee, and thought I might try to make just one thing..... and here I am several garments later, Lilou dresses, pj's Mimi tops and lots more and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it! I'm even lying awake at night thinking about which fabric to buy next!!!

What inspiration you have been - thank you so much :-)

  5. Pink sounds great! Just today I was looking at some pink fabric at a fabric shop and thought about Francoise. But I didn't buy the fabric. I guess I just don't have enough courage to sew and wear a pink 60s dress :) I wish I did, but I don't.
And I very much look forward to seeing those sweatshirt Cocos too. Will you believe me if I say that a thought of a warm winter Coco crossed my mind today too?
Oh, and I finished my first Francoise a couple of hours ago. A black one :) It turned out pretty well given that it's only the second dress I have sewn. I hope to take pictures of it tomorrow.
