It has been a strange few months at TATB HQ with our shipping capabilities reduced and, at times, put on hold while the team stayed home and safe through the UK's COVID-19 lockdown. But this month, the lovely Frances has started returning to the office and is able to help Kate pack your orders!
So to celebrate we are having a summer sale with a very tempting offer : ) We have selected some gorgeous printed sewing patterns for the offer - when you buy one, you get another for free - winning!
There are eight designs in the offer - Jessa, Mila, Zadie, Martha, Rosa, Orla, Fifi and Agnes. All you have to do is pop two of these printed sewing patterns into your basket and one of them will automatically be free - it's easy peasy! You can use this offer more than once in a transaction, so if you add four of the selected patterns to your basket, you'll only need to pay for two of them, and so on.
The sale is running until midnight BST on 25th August 2020 and is while stocks last so make sure you check out your basket before then!
Would you like to know a little more about the patterns in the offer? I thought so!
Tilly's all-time favourite pattern is a joy to sew, full of delicate features and intricate techniques. A treat for stitchers looking to advance their skills, the instructions will walk you through sewing bias-cut fabric, creating binding and finishing the insides with impressive French seams. Plus we have some great blog posts that will help you out with making bust adjustments, easing curves together and more. We also have a snazzy YouTube video that shows you how to sew narrow French seams.
The Fifi camisole is cut on the bias to create a flowing shape, with soft pleated cups, gently shaped princess seam back and bias binding straps. The shorts have a narrow stitched-in elastic waistband and cheeky curved hems. Oh là là!
If you would like to make your sleepwear set complete, you can with our free Fifi eye mask pattern and instructions - you're welcome!
Ultra cool with a seventies twist, the Jessa trousers or shorts will soon become your faves. With wide, gently flared legs on the full-length trousers or turn-up hems on the shorts, they close with a concealed front zip fly.
The high waist, curved waistband and back darts will flatter your bum, while the triangle tab fastening, deep patch pockets and faux pocket flap will have you swooning while you sew.
Haven't tackled a zip fly before? Nervous about fitting trousers? Fear not, Jessa has a full sewalong that will hold your hand through every step of the making process. It's a skill-building project that will help you out with many future makes!
Check out Tilly's most recent pair of Jessa jeans.
Who is part of the #DungareeAppreciationSociety? We certainly are, so making our own me-made pair was very high on our pattern design list!
The Mila dungarees are slim fitting on the hips and legs, with stylish side button openings and essential pockets on the front bib and booty. Make them in a woven fabric with a touch of stretch for comfort and fit.
Cute, practical and great for all seasons, wear your Mila dungarees with a t-shirt, button-down shirt or roll neck sweater.
Want more pockets? Mila has a free download for bonus hip patch pocket pattern - because we always need more pockets! If you need a little help with fitting, we have a blog post that takes you through nailing the perfect fit for Mila. Check out all the Mila blog posts!
Love sewing knits? Take it up a notch with the cleverly constructed Zadie dress. The striking Z-shaped seams, empire waistline and semi-pleated flared skirt create a flattering fit, with practical in-seam pockets and a round neckband.
With a choice of cap, three-quarter or full-length raglan sleeves, you can wear Zadie at any time of the year for effortless style that's oh so comfortable.
If you’re a fan of the Coco or Agnes patterns, this project will take your knit fabric sewing skills to the next level.
If the idea of colour blocking excites you, there is a free downloadable colouring sheet so you can test out your combos before committing to your favourite one! Zadie also has a sewalong to guide you through each step - check out all the blog posts here!
A favourite of our founder Tilly, the Martha dress is a contemporary update on the fit-and-flare style. It features an on-trend high neckband, flattering princess seam panels, a bias-cut flared skirt and closes with an invisible zip at centre back.
Choose from short sleeves or three-quarter length bell sleeves, with knee-length or mini hemline. It's great for twirling!
Wear Martha to work or to play, with sunglasses and wedges in the summer, or with knitted tights and boots in the winter.
Want to make Martha in a ponte knit fabric? Need help with sewing on the bias and making rouleau loops? Or just want ideas for trimming Martha just like the model sample? We have a whole host of blog posts that will elevate your Martha make!
Rosa has a flattering semi-fitted shape thanks to gently curved princess seams on both front and back. Our favourite feature is the pointed back yoke, which looks stunning highlighted with decorative topstitching or piping.
You'll learn to construct a two-piece collar and stand, with a separate button stand facing so you can make a feature out of contrast fabric. The three-quarter length roll-up sleeves are held up with narrow button tabs. It's finished with mock felled seams, a gently curved dipped hem, and optional pointed pockets.
Want to make it long sleeved with cuffs? There's a free downloadable bonus pattern for that! We have a great YouTube video that will help you out with topstitching and if you want to add piping to your Rosa, Tilly walks you through the process.
Orla is a semi-fitted shift top with delicate details offset by a modern exposed zip. Classic at first glance, a closer peek reveals a wealth of interesting design details to develop your sewing repertoire.
The bodice is shaped by curved French darts at the front, with contour and shoulder darts at the back for a great fit.
The booty-shielding dipped hem is finished with a facing.
Choose from full length or cropped sleeves with a subtle pleat at the shoulder. Keep it understated with the plain neckline version, or add the adorable snowdrop collar.
If you want some help perfecting the fit and techniques involved in making Orla we have a full sewalong available. Want to get more out of you Orla pattern? Why not hack it into a dress like Vanessa did?!
Sew your own jersey tops on a regular sewing machine - no overlocker or serger needed! Agnes is a close-fitting top finished with a narrow neckband. Irresistibly wearable and endlessly versatile, make it with long or cropped sleeves, plain or ruched at the shoulder, and scoop neckline or ruched sweetheart neckline. Agnes is a wardrobe staple you'll make again and again!
