We knew sewing knickers was going to be a great scrap busting sewing project. Just seeing the shapes of the Iris knickers pattern pieces in all the various styles you can whip up, you just know they're going to fit in somewhere when you cut out your next jersey top!

Inspired by Tilly's own scrap busting Iris knickers made using leftover fabric from her Tabitha T-shirt dress, we're celebrating matching our knickers to our outerwear with an October Instagram challenge encouraging you to get creative with your fabric leftovers and sew yourself some matching undies!
The challenge breakdown:
1. Sew a pair of Iris knickers using fabric leftover from another project. Take a photo of your knickers & other make together (flat lays, modelled, on the washing line - get creative!).
2. Share on your Instagram page (it needs to be public for us to see) and tag both @TillyButtons & @EvieLaLuve (who designed this gorgeous pattern!) in your post, making sure to add our dedicated hashtag #ScrapBustingIris - the most important bit!
You can post as many makes as you like, as many times as you like until 31st October 2021 (and beyond of course but that's just the challenge deadline).

It's just a bit of fun, but for an extra incentive to take part and share your scrap busting makes Team Buttons and Hannah of Evie La Lùve (our Iris knicker sewing pattern designer) will be going through the #ScrapBustingIris tag at the start of November and selecting two favourites each. These four makers will then be able to pick one free sewing pattern from Tilly and the Buttons as a prize - yay!
